Bug Description
Ubuntu 11.10: the system settings indicator menu (cog wheel) shows a hibernate option which when selected hibernates the computer to swap space and switches off
Ubuntu 12.04: sudo pm-hibernate hibernates the computer to swap space and reloads the ram correctly, tested several cycles. Hibernate option not shown in system settings indicator menu.

I must add that the hibernate options in 12.04 are also disabled in the power settings dialog, while pm-hibernate works fine.
