Bug Description
At the time of creating this bug report via "ubuntu-bug indicator-session," selecting "Hibernate" from the session menu was only locking the screen instead of actually hibernating the machine.
Hibernation normally works for this machine, and does in fact work again after a reboot. At the time that it wasn't working, several hibernation attempts were all simply causing the screen to lock.
Interestingly (perhaps), on each occasion that I entered my password to be returned to my desktop after the failed hibernation attempt, a notification of being reconnected to my wireless network would display. This suggests that the hibernation was partially working in that particular services (such as networking) were being suspended.
