Bug Description

My system menu disappears (not sure if it's a crash) rather frequently. I was able to trigger this today by opening System Settings and clicking Appearance and simply changing the theme. The user menu still works. I end up having to reload Unity to bring the system menu back.

Apport doesn't appear to record a crash report for this.

Unity. But obstinately, the system menu now is not crashing/disappearing when I change the theme now after a reboot so I guess we'll need to do more work to figure out when this happens.

I just noticed by Session-Indicator is gone.

I booted into 11.10 and the Session-Indicator was present. I started surfing the web and playing some music and at some point noticed the Session-indicator was no longer present. The indicator-icon is simply gone.

still get this issue with the latest Oneiric i386 b2
and wonder if this is related with an other issue: each time i log as gnome-classic i get first the "nautilus" panel loaded, then the expected panel appear over it (can see the nautilus panel underneath (by transparence with some themes)

reinstalling all the Oneiric genuine related "session" packages dont make the menu reapearing, so i need to install the "logout" & "shutdown" old applets
