Unlock dialog appears briefly while suspending

Bug Description

Binary package hint: indicator-applet

When I choose to suspend the laptop from the indicator applet, immediately I see the gnome-screensaver unlock dialog.
This does not happen every time, but only if I move the mouse before the suspension is done (usually after 5-10 seconds).

What an user might understand, is that the suspend failed: it makes sense to present the dialog only after the resume.

Suggestion:
- switch immediately to a blank VT (or a plymouth VT with some suspending text)
- then lock the screensaver

NOTE: fixing this will also prevent the annoying "time has expired." when you resume.

I'v noticed this behavior too.
It occurs often when switching users too. But I'm not sure it an indicator-session bug. Seems more of a gdm/gnome session bug

Changed in indicator-session (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Confirmed

Bug #636693 might be the cause of this 'problem'

Still an issue with up-to-date Natty (indicator-session 0.2.15-0ubuntu1).

Hernando Torque (htorque) wrote :

FWIW, I can trigger this without indicator-session/indicator-applet-session installed in an Ubuntu/Classical/Classical (no effect) session.
