still an issue on 18.04, after having installed ``ubuntu-

That is because XDG_SEAT and XDG_SESSION_ID are not set anymore & indicator-session depends on it.
dbus-x11 installs /etc/X11/
Comment out those & reboot. It will work again. LP: #1831491
On comment #10, with a session restart it is enough for the fix to work.

This problem was about Ubuntu 17.04 which is obsolete.
Changing status to invalid.
