2013-12-14 14:44:13 Jamie Strandboge description If I am in a dark room and using the phone, I like to move the brightness down to the dimmest value via the indicator. If I'm using an app that requires concentration (eg, playing Sudoku) the screen might dim even further while I'm thinking (somewhat odd in and of itself, but this is a visual cue that the screen is about to blank, so 'ok'). If I click within the app, the screen is brightened not to the value I selected for the dark room I am in (ie, the dimmest), but to some other brighter value. Interestingly, if I adjust to the dimmest setting and let the screen blank, when I unblank, the screen brightness setting is remembered thereafter (ie, I cna play sudoku, let the screen dim, touch the screen and then it is at the value I select). What seems to be happening is that the indicator dims the screen, but the value is not actually saved until screen blank and tapping the screen after screen dim before blanking resets it to the previously saved value (ie, not the one I just set via the indicator). Performing various combinations of setting brightness, dimming, blanking, etc seems to confirm this. UPDATE: I'm not sure that the dimmest setting is actually remembered after screen blank after all-- I was sure that I witnessed this, but then last night it didn't appear to be working this way. Maybe there is another bug in play....
