For me on the latest images (44 on arale, 55 on krillin) there can be a significant delay when enabling wifi before the indicator reflects the association, sometimes up to 2 mins. nmcli d shows the connection right away.
The previous images did not have this symptom.

This seemed to regress between wed and thurs perhaps due to new api changes

Here's my description from the private bug:

While testing the latest version of NM from silo-006, I noticed that when I enable WiFi and it autoconnects to my home AP, although the NM menu shows the AP as connected ( it's green ), the panel icon sometimes can take several minutes to switch to show WiFi is connected, and sometimes it never switches at all ( see attached screen shot ).

Steps to reproduce:

1. Enable WiFi, associate with an available access point
2. Disable WiFi
3. Verify that mobile data is active
4. Enable WiFi

Expected Result:
The panel icon is changed to show WiFi is connected.

Actual Result:
The panel icon takes several minutes to change, or sometimes never changes at all.

current build number: 58
device name: arale
channel: ubuntu-touch/rc-proposed/meizu.en
last update: 2015-07-13 11:11:10
version version: 58
version ubuntu: 20150710
version device: 20150709-8965e37
version custom: 20150709-814-6-40

Even though the changes in the silo version of NM don't touch the WiFi code, I re-installed the previous version of NM ( 0.9.10.0-4ubuntu15.1.4 ) and confirmed that this isn't a regression.

I checked krillin, and it works as expected.

Also note indicator-network's bug #1339792 describes a similar problem.

I am also seeing that when wifi is disabled the indicator does not always update to show the cellular data connection whereas the panel does show it as it has been enabled all along.

I have tried a bunch of times to reproduce this bug now, without success. I landed a bunch of stability fixes to the code that manages the top indicator icons in version 0.5.3+15.10.20150818-0ubuntu1, so it's possible that this issue is resolved, though.
