The notification applet tells me 0 mail received but I was 11 new mail in my mailbox in evolution

This is by design. The number in the messaging menu is the number of mails that have come in since you last looked at Evolution. If we did the number of unread mails it is likely that the number would never reach zero for most users (unless they're big inbox zero fans).

Except that the mails have been received after the last time I watch Evolution
