mailnag is not fully compatible with Ubuntu 16.04 LTS MATE

Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Ubuntu 16.04 LTS MATE.
2. Install mailnag from official repo or from PPA.
3. Setup mailnag.
4. Wait for new e-mail(s).

Expected results:
Notification about e-mails is shown and list of emails are placed in 'indicator-messages' of 'indicator-applet-complete' inside 'mate-panel'.

Actual results:
Only popup notification with email is shown. 'indicator-messages' is not shown.

Installing 'mailnag-messagingmenu-plugin' does not help.

But "dconf read /com/canonical/indicator/messages/applications" returns
"['mailnag-messagingmenu.desktop']"
So it's registered.

So it's registered in MessagingMenu.

Installing MATE 1.16.1 from ppa:ubuntu-mate-dev/xenial-mate does not help.

I still can't indicator-messages applet (with MailNag) on Ubuntu MATE 16.04. Any ideas?

mailnag will work with Ubuntu MATE 16.10 and onwards. This compatibility can't be back ported to Ubuntu MATE 16.04.
