Bug Description

Binary package hint: indicator-datetime

I reported this bug not too long ago https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/743394 and the fix was released in the package indicator-datetime - 0.2.1-0ubuntu1, but I continue to have the same bug in the indicator-datetime - 0.2.2-0ubuntu1, the actual version of the indicator. Now I'm certanlly that this bug is related to the language, because of a bug in the installation process of natty beta 1, the "spanish translation packages" weren't downloaded. When I booted ubuntu the language in use was english, I changed to the 12 hours format and it worked fine, but after installing the spanish packages, it worked in the same way of the bug that I repported first, showing with the 12 hours format like the 24 hours format.

If something is needed just tell me. Thanks for your effort.

Ok, sorry that the last fix hadn't resolved this issue. After reading your report I believe this may be the result of a bad translation somewhere.

I've looked through the part which should be translated and it looks fine, it's not like it's simply been duplicated for 24hr and 12hr.

In the other bug I up loaded a video of the bug. If you want I could make a video of the fresh install with the english interface and the an other one with the spanish packages installed.

does not work by changing 24-hour format 12 hour format, only works by checking the box of "seconds"

I use "Spanish (Chile)" and is the same, not AM/PM on 12 hours option.

Exactly, as felipe said it only works correctly if you tick the "show seconds" checkbox

Same here for ES_SV in Natty. Only works with seconds enabled.

It won't work using the indicator-datetime GUI, just go to dconf-editor and set custom in the preferences of indicator-datetime.
So no fix really yet. But dconf solves it for me. New users would need to google it.

I'm glad this one is fixed. This bug has been around for more than a year.
