indicator time does not update upon location change

I recently travelled from my home area of Los Angeles to Hong Kong. While the time zone correctly was changed in settings, the indicator itself froze at the old time. killing the indicator-datetime-service process resulted in the correct local time being displayed.

in addition to the time indicator not updating when location is changed, when adding locations under system date and time settings, the control applet crashes if you try to add more than one location in the add/remove location dialog.
