turning off bluetooth kills the applet

Bug Description

Steps to repro:

1. Boot from cold boot
2. Right click the Bluetooth applet
3. Uncheck the "bluetooth" option to turn off bluetooth
4. Applet disappears from the top bar
5. Open Systems Preferences
6. Select Bluetooth
7. Toggle the on/off switch. Button reflashes and reverts to off position and the following is displayed in /var/log/syslog

In my case the log output is slightly different, I assume because my only paired device is a mouse, rather than an MTP player in Anmar's case:

Another interesting note - while turning bluetooth back on through the settings window fails for me in the way Anmar described, turning it on with my laptop's airplane-mode button works, so below a certain layer the bluetooth stack is working here.
