Bug Description

To reproduce, open gnome terminal, then open the hud with alt, and try these searches:

"N"
"Ne"
"New"
"New "
"New P"
"New Pr"
"New Pro"
"New Profil"
"New Profile"
"New Profile..."

Note that the exact string of the menu item is "New Profile..."

Of these searches, only "New", "New Pro", and "New Profile" give the expected result. Of the others, approximately half do not list the expected result at all. In particular, "New Profile..." (the exact string) gives an incorrect top result.

I would expect all of these searches to give "New Profile..." as the top result.

This is a major problem. It affects every program I've tried so far that HAS an application menu for the HUD to refer to. For instance, open LibreOffice Writer and type "Zoom". I expect to see the equivalent of "View->Zoom".
Instead, I see results from the network manager, which is quite common in the HUD results, even though the network manager isn't open (in a window, anyway), and the options the HUD presents don't seem like the sort of things people want to change regularly. Even if I wanted to change network settings, it would be something like "all wireless OFF" or "connect to...", not "Configure VPN".
It would be even better if I could skip LibreOffice's "Zoom" dialogue and just set the zoom to "number%" or "page width", but for now I'd be satisfied with the HUD doing what it was designed for in the first place.

However, there is an issue if you try the following:
Bookmark "Total Body Workout 4" (url = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6olejYe6bU )

Open the HUD with the ALT key and type "Tot"
You can see the entry (provided you dont have so many other matches that it doesn't make the list)
Continue to type "Total"
The entry disappears and there are no results. The HUD needs some attention.

I'm unable to reproduce this after a few attempts so I don't know what kind of kooky caching or adaptive behaviour is going on but it's pretty irritating that it's so unreliable.
