Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-panel
Using 10.04 Beta. Recommended nvidia driver (though I saw the same behaviour with the default driver.)
I right click the top panel, select properties and change orientation to Left. The power (logout) icon should now be in the bottom left hand corner, but it has vanished. The only way to get the icon back is to change the orientation back to Top or Bottom.

Bit more investigation shows that the log out icon is there when the panel is on the left, it's just that it's to the right of the user icon and so is only displayed if the panel is wide enough. By default it will fall off the edge of the panel.
I would have expected the user and logout icons to be independent of each other, or at least for them to be placed vertically on top of one another when the panel is vertical.
It looks like a similar problem affects the volume and mail icons. When the panel is on the left only the volume icon can be seen.
Have changed the package the bug refers to from gnome-panel to indicator-applet.
