Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-panel
This "bug" is two problems of aesthetics and consistency:
1. A problem of aesthetics: in 9.10, the envelope icon in a vertical gnome-panel paints half-way out of the panel itself, despite having enough room to paint properly.
(see attached screenshot)
2. A problem of consistency: every time I login, the order of the icons in the gnome panel notification area is different. It's just plain inconvenient, particularly when the date is not the last one.
