Drop imagemagick-display from the default install [disco regression]

Bug #1819503 reported by amano on 2019-03-11
Affects Status Importance Assigned to Milestone
imagemagick (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

This seemed to be a regression in Disco from Artful, Bionic and Cosmic, where this was fixed in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1717951

In Disco the rather unprofessional ImageMagick icon was back. It was hidden in Artful, Bionic and Cosmic.

As Sebastien Bacher points out below this is not necessary anymore. CUPS does no longer depend on ImageMagick. People can simply remove it when they don't rely on it anymore for other uses.

Marking invalid now.

Thank you for your bug report, the change was reverted from the ubuntu-settings overide and done in imagemagick itself, that has been removed in disco with the rtaional that imagemagick is not installed by default

    - Stop installing the Debian-specific .desktop for the display program.

so let's try dropping this change for now.'

You can probably install it, but maybe that should be done automatically on upgrade...

affects: ubuntu-settings (Ubuntu) → imagemagick (Ubuntu)
Changed in imagemagick (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Opinion

If removing ImageMagick without removing Cups is now possible, I am perfectly fine with dropping the Debian patch. I just didn't know it.
