I run into the same problem.

The real name of the required package is plasma-widget-kimpanel-backend-ibus (note the plaSMA instead of plasam)
The point is that this package is actually installed in my system, but im-switch claims it is not. Is it looking for a wrong package name or is plasma-widget-kimpanel-backend-ibus badly installed/configured ?

I run Kubuntu 10.04 32bits.
