Bug Description
I believe these commands should have a different result. "service networking stop" should stop networking. This issue happens on a 11.04 machine as well.
-------
Script from 11.10 desktop install
-------
$ sudo service networking stop
stop: Unknown instance:
$ sudo service networking start
networking stop/waiting
$ service networking
Usage: /etc/init.
-------
Also this method does not provide a restart like "/etc/init.
