Bug Description
Binary package hint: ifenslave-2.6
After installation of ifenslave-2.6 in Ubuntu 11.04, the following new files appear in /etc/network/
* ifenslave
* ifenslave.dpkg-new
The files are different and this behavior prevents ifenslave from working properly. After a simple "mv ifenslave.dpkg-new ifenslave", it works properly. Inside the package there's only the file "ifenslave".
I'm using Ubuntu 11.04
ifenslave version is 1.1.0-15ubuntu2

Same here. On a fresh natty install bond interfaces are not working. However, a machine upgraded from lucid to maverick to natty is not affected.
The following is a temporary fix after installing ifenslave:
# cd /etc/network/ up.d/ifenslave if-up.d/ up.d/ifenslave. dpkg-new if-pre- up.d/ifenslave
# mv if-pre-
# mv if-pre-
Btw, this bug was already fixed one year ago in upstream Debian version 1.1.0-16!
