I've installed a standard ipw2200 miniPCI card in a crappy Packard Bell laptop (EasyNote R1050). All good now (after messing about with mbr for a while) but eth1 doesn't exist, as the ipw2200 module gets error 16 trying to use IRQ0.
Tried some different boot options, too:
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.15-23-686 root=/dev/hda5 ro quiet splash i8042.nomux i8042.noaux pci=biosirq pci=noacpi noapic |

As you can see from the attached messages, IRQ12 is not in use. Why would ipw2200 not use the free IRQ? |
