icewm start menu totally out of sync with Ubuntu Gnome

Bug Description

I did a fresh install of Ubuntu, and one of the first packages I installed was icewm. But the programs menu in icewm totally did not match the menu in Ubuntu's Gnome interface, meaning most things were inaccessible without using a terminal window. The Ubuntu icewm package should sync its menu config file with Ubuntu's main one.

I can confirm that this bug exists. Just tested on latest Dapper.

There are many ways to partially bypass this bug:
- Install 'menu' (but its not the Ubuntu menu)
- Show automatically updating Ubuntu menu that contains a lot of empty items (using .icewm/menu)
- Hand pick parts of the Ubuntu menu (using .icewm/menu)

More details and sample .icewm/menu config on
http://www.iki.fi/karvinen/icewm.html

Is there a way to hide empty items icewm-menu-gnome2?
$ sudo apt-get install icewm-gnome-support
$ icewm-menu-gnome2 --list /usr/share/desktop-directories/

This "bug" is also on the latest ubuntu as of posting this (7.04 i believe).

I found a sort of way around it... but this does need fixing.

http://myy.helia.fi/~karte/icewm.html

that explains how to fix it.

i just put the following in the /home/user/.icewm/menu
(Note that I use a few different programs than the normal ubuntu)

## $HOME/.icewm/menu
prog "Terminal" xterm xterm
prog "Firefox" firefox firefox
prog "Emelfm" emelfm
prog "Gaim" gaim gaim
prog "Gimp" gimp gimp
separator
menuprog "Accessories" gnome-util icewm-menu-gnome2 --list "/usr/share/desktop-directories/Accessories.directory"
menuprog "Programming" gnome-devel icewm-menu-gnome2 --list "/usr/share/desktop-directories/Development.directory"
menuprog "Graphics" gnome-graphics icewm-menu-gnome2 --list "/usr/share/desktop-directories/Graphics.directory"
menuprog "Internet" gnome-globe icewm-menu-gnome2 --list "/usr/share/desktop-directories/Internet.directory"
menuprog "Sound & Video" gnome-multimedia icewm-menu-gnome2 --list "/usr/share/desktop-directories/Multimedia.directory"
menuprog "Office" gnome-applications icewm-menu-gnome2 --list "/usr/share/desktop-directories/Office.directory"
menuprog "Administration" gnome-system icewm-menu-gnome2 --list "/usr/share/desktop-directories/System-Settings.directory"
menuprog "System Tools" gnome-system icewm-menu-gnome2 --list "/usr/share/desktop-directories/System-Tools.directory"
