Are you on a network that blocks external pings?

Yes, really it is the packet loss test that just sits there.

Hi

I cannot reproduce this problem with my Firefox. Mind you, I use Debian, so it might be a fix that has not reached Ubuntu. Which java provides your java plugin?

Hi

Do you have icedtea6-plugin installed? I cannot see it on that list.

Reporter, are you still seeing this issue with Firefox 3.6.13 or later in safe mode? If not, please close. These links can help you in your testing.

Jim please file a new bug. If possible with a Mozilla Crash reporter ID if present. The Windows and Linux plugins are different enough to warrant a new bug. Please cc me on the new bug <email address hidden> thanks.

  Firefox closes completely and has to be manually restarted. When that is done all I see is "Well this is embarrasing..." screen showing a list of previously opened tabs and allowing to to reopen them or start a new session. Crash reporter never runs.

Fixed the problem here. The pingtest.net caused FFox, IE and Opera all to crash. I uninstalled all Flash installs and Java and resinstalled them. Browsers no longer crashes.

Still an issue using Firefox 10 and Java Version 6 Update 23 under Ubuntu 11.10 (32 bit).

While loading pingtest.net, I get the loading box at the bottom that says "Applet Started." but the packet loss at the begining of the test never finishes...It doesn't even fail or skip that part like it sometimes does under my Windows partition, the test just keeps trying to pass that setup before moving on to the other parts.

A problem I had as well, see my topic;

Basically the fix is to remove icetea java JDK completely and use the official vanilla java JDK...
