ibus 1.20.20091215 input method problem

I am running ubuntu 10.04 beta 1 and I am also using ibus version 1.20.20091215. I am also using japanese anthy m17n. When I choose anthy m17n for the input method I can type in japanese but the icon does not change from the icon of the keyboard so I have no way of knowing if it changed to japanese with trying out type first. The same thing also happens in openoffice 3.2.

I though it would have changed the icon to the japanese anthy like it did in karmic. In karmic the same version of ibus works fine.
