Bug Description
Binary package hint: ibus
ibus 1.2.0.20090927-
1. "System" > "Preferences" > "IBus Preferences"
2. Choose "Yes"
What happens: "IBus has been started! If you can not use IBus, please add below lines in $HOME/.bashrc, and relogin your desktop.
export GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus
export XMODIFIERS=@im=ibus
export QT_IM_MODULE=ibus"
Not only is this geeky and misspelled, according to Arne Goetje it is apparently also incorrect for Ubuntu. The environment variables should be set automatically.
This is not the same as bug 423525.
