Bug Description

Binary package hint: ia32-libs

In jaunty, ia32-libs contained /usr/lib32/libstdc++.so.5 but this was removed in karmic. This library is necessary in order to run certain third party binary packages, such as Checkpoint VPN client (snx).

The solution is to download ia32-libs from jaunty, extract the .deb file to a temporary directory and copy libstdc++.so.5.0.7 to /usr/lib32 and then do ln -s libstdc++.5.0.7 libstdc++.so.5

I would be grateful if libstdc++.so.5 would find its way back into karmic.
