Bug Description

Binary package hint: hydrogen

The LASH patch applied to Hardy's Hydrogen is broken. Hydrogen crashes when alsa seq (midi) connections are restored on LASH restore (load from lash_panel)

Reproduction steps:

(0. Make sure lashd is either running or automagically started when you start lash client programs)
1. Start seq24 (it's a nice little sequencer program)
2. Start hydrogen
3. Route midi from seq24 to hydrogen using QJackCtl
4. Save & Close the LASH project from lash_panel
5. Re-open the project from lash_panel. At least I only got the Hydrogen splash screen and after that hydrogen immediately exited.

A fix is available from the Hydrogen forums:

http://www.hydrogen-music.org/forum/index.php?action=show_thread&thread=657&fid=9&page=1

I'll attach a debdiff with the new fixed LASH patch to this bug in the (very) near future.

I've included the patch in the merge from debian 0.9.3-5.1 attached to bug #237282

Great! Thank you!
Is this going to be uploaded to Hardy or just Ibex?

Thank you for providing the patch!

The merge from debian on bug #237282 is for Intrepid. For Hardy, if you think that it meets the requirements for a Stable Release Update described https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates don't hesitate to start the process.

Ok, I'll start the Stable Release Update process once the fix has been applied and tested to work in Intrepid Ibex. Shouldn't that be done when the status of this bug is "Fix Released"?

Yes, you can also have a look at [1] to see if the version in intrepid differs from the one in hardy. This should coincide with the status change on the bugs.
