Confirming, I see the same warnings as Marco Rodrigues.

Running ssh-askpass from a gnome-terminal is a convenient way to reproduce this.

Here is the fix for gnome-themes-ubuntu. The other changes are for making lintian happy.

I added the package "community-themes" as affected by this bug as well because the themes Dust, Kin, New Wave they all ship in that package.

Of course, some people download dust.tgz manually and drag it into the gnome "Appearence" window but I guess these people have to download a new version of dust manually.. it's better to use the package instead of polluting the file system with untracked files. Still, I wonder how many people have actually installed dust this way? If it's a lot of people then we might still get tons of people complaining about this bug even though it's fixed in the packages? The ubuntu wiki even says you should do the .tgz drag and drop trick instead of recommending that users install the community-theme package if they want "dust" (see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Incoming/DustTheme?action=show&redirect=Artwork%2FIncoming%2FIntrepid%2FDustTheme ). I'm worried that maybe we're setting people up for problems when we first recommend that people install themes using .tgz file and then we upgrade the theme engine breaking their themes etc.

The instructions haven't been updated; the theme wasn't included in the repos at the time it was written.

Also: May I request changing Dust to r59? It should work with the new murrine. Or has this been fixed already?

I get the above message in the details screen of the "Synaptic Package Manager" (Window that is open when updating software).

I don't know what package the EdubuntuColors theme is in, but this is not listed in the properties of human-theme or gnome-themes-ubuntu listed in other postings here.

Will this be fixed in an update of a package sometime?

Thanks
Brent

This doesn't seem to be an issue for community-themes. Dust and New Wave were moved to gnome-themes-ubuntu and fixed there.
