Ambiguous ON/OFF switch graphics in Ubuntu GUI

As of Ubuntu 12.10 and up, ambiguous graphics is being used for ON/OFF type of switches. For one thing, the I/O symbol next to the slider indicates the position the switch is currently in. On another hand, when compared to the hardware switch the symbol next to the slider implies the position the slider can be moved to. Meaning that the current slider posion is an exact opposite to what the I/O symbol indicates.

In other words, the ON position can be easily confused with OFF position based on real world experience with hardware electric switches. I found out that some users were totally confused on their first experience with this design.
