This works fine for me. What theme are you using? Can you recreate it with another theme?

I'm currently using "Human-Netbook". I changed the theme to "Mist", and
the dialog looked fine. Also looked fine in "Human". The only difference I
can see between Human and Human-Netbook is that the background of the panel
at the top of the screen on the latter is not grey but ... black. Perhaps
the properties dialog may be using the "wrong" background colour?

The theme in question can be downloaded as human-netbook-theme

This dialog comes from gnome-panel and the Human-Netbook theme is getting confused and applying the panel background color to this dialog.

I can confirm this bug exists on current releases of Jaunty alpha.

I will attach a screen shot. I installed at alpha 4, and have been updating regularly since. When accessing the menu editor dialogue box, the background is black and the field names are not readable (likely black on black).

I have confirmed this bug with a clean install of jaunty and further install of ubuntu-netbook-remix, loading the human-netbook-theme by default.

The following patch fixes the problem. Alternative patches could match exactly the PanelDItemEditor class as well as have this override rule inside panel.rc, moving its include down into gtkrc file, but should work the same.

hi there! this is still an issue in jaunty (clean install with latest updates). should this patch make its way into the package??? by the way, i have no idea how to apply this patch (do i need the "source" of the human-netbook-theme and rebuild something? it seems a bit strange to me to have source for a theme - sorry for my ignorance ... ;-) )
thanks for the help
