Bug Description
I just finish setting up a new LaserJet (Hardware info attached) and had some trouble installing the binary driver.
Ubuntu itself didn't ask me to do so and just listed the driver as working - but this is probably not a hplip-error.
I finally encountered the "hp-setup" command, which though failed to install the driver. [error: The printer you are trying to setup requires a binary driver plug-in and it failed to install. Please check your internet connection and try again. Visit http://
I don't know what this error massages is talking about, the internet works without any problems.
At last I read in some forum "sudo hp-setup" and indeed everything installed correctly. Printer works perfectly.
Conclusion: This is similar to https:/
Add a gksudo to hp-setup or forbid running it as normal user (like apt-get).
