Bug Description
Binary package hint: hplip
I bought a new HP Photosmart C3170 (C3100 series - all-in-one scanner+
Unfortunately it seems that drivers ignore the device if I turn it on after the bootstrap. Example:
1. Turn on the system
2. Log in and start session
3. Turn on HP Photosmart C3170
4. run `scanimage -L` and/or xsane
Results: no scanner found.
The workaround is restart hplip service (`/etc/init.d/hplip restart`) after step 3 and before step 4. I've added an udev rule to run it automatically, but this is not the best solution for non-geek people :-)
Same issue should occur in printing using the HP cups backend.
