Which HPLIP packages do you have installed? Please run the command

dpkg -l | grep hplip

and post the output here.

Please also run the following commands and post the output here:

ls -ld /usr/share/hplip/ui5/
ls -ld /usr/share/hplip/ui5/__pycache__/
ls -l /usr/share/python3/runtime.d/hplip-data.rtupdate
which py3clean
which py3compile

This looks like something is messed up on your system, as dpkg tells that you have hplip-data installed ans also the file /usr/share/python3/runtime.d/hplip-data.rtupdate is present, but the directory /usr/share/hplip/ui5/ and its files, which are also part of this package, are missing.

Please re-install the package via

sudo apt install --reinstall hplip-data

to recover the lost files. Please tell whether this eliminates the problems you have reported here.
