the issue seems a side effect of cups-filters needing a rebuild with the new qpdf, could you test if installing https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups-filters/1.17.7-0ubuntu1 fixes your issue?

That seems to fix the problem - I was even able to configure the printer without having to use the hp-toolbox stuff. Thanks Séb!
