 I tried your suggestion with poor results. Maybe that's a clue. I attached the printer to the USB and redirected the cat as you said but the printer did not detect anything. I tried waking the printer with the power button and tried the cat again but nothing happened. I removed the printers from hp-systray and added the printer as a USB printer and tried again. Nothing. I attempted to print a test page as well also with no results. It's as if the printer does not see the USB connection. However, I can set up the printer with the USB connected and give it the WEP code and it connects through WIFI. So, I'm not clear what's going on! I set up the network queues again so I'm back to where I was before this USB experiment. I hate to suggest this but it's been my experience that hardware and software problems are often missdiagnosed as on another. But the printer works fine from Win7 on the same PC so I doubt it's hardware. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion.
