Bug Description

i2c_i801 breaks suspend on my hp compaq nc6000. It suspends fine, but fails to
come back up, requiring the battery to be removed.

Blacklisting the module in /etc/hotplug/blacklist fixes the problem.

This should probably be blacklisted in hotplug by default.

Does this still happen in Breezy, and if so does unloading the module before
suspend prove adequate?

It still happens exactly the same as with Hoary, and unloading the module
beforehand does not help.

Tested with linux-image-2.6.12-8-686 version 2.6.12-8.13.

What's this module used for?

If we black-list it by default, nothing will be able to use it.

Communicating with the system i2c bus. There's no reason whatsoever to do this
in a default setup. In theory there may be hardware sensors on there, but in
general there aren't.
