Thanks for taking your time to report this issue and help making Ubuntu better.

I get the same error message when attempting to start hocr-gtk 0.10.17-2 on Ubuntu Vivid.

I tested with Debian Sid, but there the program started without any error messages. So it looks like this might be an Ubuntu-specific issue.

Since the error message mentions an undefined symbol I tried rebuilding the hocr package on my Vivid system to see whether that would help, but I still got the same error message.
