Bug Description
I am using a double boot MacBook with OSX and Ubuntu.
I have an HFS+ partition to share data [1] between the 2 systems.
For a while I have been experiencing freezes and crashes with no other issue than to power off the machine. As a consequence, the HFS+ partition is unmounted not cleanly, and after I reboot, the HFS+ partition is read only, and I fail to remount it read-write.
In the past (like 6+ years ago) I found a workaround by running an HFS related tool, which as a side effect was remounting the partition cleanly. Unfortunately I forgot what it was.
Currently, as a workaround, I pay a short visit to OSX, which mounts the partition correctly; then when I reboot back to ubuntu the partition is mounted read-write. But this round trip is a pain.
(I file this report against the package hfsplus, as a first heuristic, because I really don't know where it belongs)
[1] this is the most reliable filesystem I found to be used both by OSX and Linux, and including the features I need (like access rights, file names, and symlinks). If you know a better one, this might solve my specific situation.
