Transparency slider causes entire window to fade away, text, menus and everything.

in the changelog for 2.10.0 (http://hexchat.readthedocs.io/en/latest/changelog.html) it says:
replace Text Box transparency with full window transparency (may come back)

This was in 2014

No longer seems to be an issue in 22.04.
