Bug Description

Binary package hint: hdparm

i'm using 9.15-1ubuntu9 on ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

i have two hdds. one for doing work, one for backups. the backup drive sleeps most of the time and gets mounted by my backup cronjob only once a day.

hdparm installs a power.d script /usr/lib/pm-utils/power.d/95hdparm-apm which adjusts the APM settings of all attached harddrives whenever the power state changes (i.e. when AC is plugged/unplugged). this wakes up my backup drive, which is... not ideal for a power saving script.

hdparm offers a switch to check the drives power status (-C), but this wakes up every drive i tested. so using that is no option. a white or blacklist for drives not to wake up would be ok i guess?
for now i just created an empty shell script at /etc/pm/power.d/95hdparm-apm, which overrides the provided one (i don't need the functionality anyway).
