Bug Description

Binary package hint: haxe

the haxe currently available is 2.05. only haxe 2.06 will work with the new hxcpp, the haxe library for C++ support. there appear to be more compilation bugs on 64-bit platforms with haxe, such as the need for -D_64BITS and -fPIC to be passed to the compiler. see http://haxe.1354130.n2.nabble.com/hxcpp-compile-fails-on-64-bit-w-patch-td5496536.html

Small bump -

Hello,
it would be nice if the haxe version could be updated to 2.10 or greater, because the Flash 3D ("Molehill") API cannot be used with the current version.

Thanks!

Ubuntu's upstream for this package is Debian, who removed the package altogether in 2011. They have new builds from upstream 3.0.0 but there is currently no stable version. Once one appears, it should not be too hard to convince the Ubuntu maintainers to do a simple merge.

In the meantime, your best bet may be to install the packages from Debian testing.

Haxe 3.0.0 is available to ubuntu since trusty 14.04.
I've also updated Haxe to 3.2.0 in Debian, so Ubuntu will get it eventually (probably in 16.04).
Note that you may also manually download and install the deb file available at https://packages.debian.org/sid/haxe
