Problem with window and controls

Handbrake window is too wide. Xwininfo told: 1423, my screen is 1280. The window size is not changeable.

Handbrake window was good in Xubuntu 16.04.

I also noticed, that the setup dialog for runtime has to small boxes for time now, see screenshot, or mabay this is a "feature" of a new gnome lib?
