Bug Description

I downloaded the LiveCD and launched it. This is the only problem I got so far.
After launching hal, a window appears for some nanoseconds, and this is the
output in console. Daemon hald wasnt started (at least I didnt manually started
it). I dont know if this is the expected behaviour of hal when it is launched
with no hald running. If it is, bug report severity should be changed to
"enhancement", where the enhancement would be the addition of a notice on
launching hal, informing the user "hald" is not started.

Was this in the preview version or the RC version? This bug did exist in the
preview version (#1990), and is fixed in the RC version (#1990 is closed), see:

http://archive.ubuntulinux.org/cdimage/releases/warty/

to grab the latest one. If this is the RC version, I'll open it again.

cheers,

Alex

I confirm it was a preview iso, downloaded from
http://ftp.cs.umn.edu/pub/ubuntu-cdimage/releases/warty/preview/live-i386.iso.
Now I am getting this one:
http://ftp.cs.umn.edu/pub/ubuntu-cdimage/releases/warty/rcc3/live-i386.iso, is
it correct?
Could be a suggestion to either take the outdated files away from the ftp
servers or put them in a "old" directory, keeping them for historical reasons or so.
Sorry for disturbing the community,

No problem, it wasn't a disturbance, and yes that's the right iso.
They're currently working on setting everything up for the final release next
week, the old version should be removed shortly. Thanks for the suggestion though.
