With latest changes my iPod is not seen by hal

After installing latest packages of hal, pmount, etc... My iPod is not detected
anymore by hal but it's correctly detected by the kernel and I can mount it by
hand with pmount.

As now tried out by several people, it helps to use upstream's version of the
autotool files (for whatever reason). I prepared a package without any own
autotool file changes, I can upload that at any time (no code changes
whatsoever, just cleaned the package diff.gz).

 hal (0.2.98-1ubuntu9) warty; urgency=low
 .
   * cleaned the package diff.gz by removing all changes to autotools files
     (the shipped ones work fine)
