hal not started at boot

I got an error msg: hw_random fail to start when start up.
I think the main reason that make "Device Manager" not work. When I run
Device Manager, it said hald not started.

Do you have a Microsoft Intellimouse? If so, this is a duplicate of Bug #8108

The startup of hal? I. e. in the long sequence of * message [OK] during boot?

Can you please open a terminal and type

  sudo hald --daemon=no --drop-privileges 2>&1 | tee hal.log

This will start hal in the foreground and print all debug messages both on
screen and into hal.log. If the program terminates, then hal has crashed; if it
continues to run, the problem is harder to reproduce.

Can you please try this and send me the output file hal.log?
