Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus-cd-burner

Nautilus recognizes my cd writer, after copying the files to the CD/DVD creator location (burn:///) and clicking the "Write to Disc" I get the standard CD Burning prompt. When I click the "Write" button I am prompted with the message:

Insert a rewritable or blank disc
Please put a disc, with at least 2.8 MiB free, into the drive. The following disc types are supported:
CD-R, CD-RW

Despite having a blank CD already in the drive. If I click the "OK" button to continue, the message keeps appearing and I am unable to write to the CD

OS: Ubuntu Edgy Eft (6.10).
CD Writer: External SCSI HP 9600 CD Writer.

Thanks for your bug. Could you run /usr/lib/nautilus-cd-burner/list_cddrives and lshal with a blank CD to the drive and attach those informations to the bug?

Same problem here, with an internal ATAPI CD writer.
cdrecord at the command line works, although i have to specify dev=/dev/hdd even for a -scanbus option, otherwise cdrecord fails to locate the CD writer drive. Apparently i have no SCSI support in the kernel, no "scsi"string to be found in dmesg, no "sg"module loaded.

i am attaching the output of lshal. Search for the string 5VO212 and it'll take you to the CD writer.
i have not included a "hal debug output" since it involves disconnecting and reconnecting the device, and this is not an external device which can be disconnected easily.
i fail to see how to attach more than one file here.
