Bug Description

It's been a couple of week now that I often have two screen warning screens when I start my computer :

"failed to initialize HAL!"

and

"This program cannot start until you start the dbus system service.
It is strongly recommended you reboot your compter after starting messagebus."

Someone else posted it on the Users mailing list. He found out that that was happening when he starts his computer with a CD inside.

I Installed smbfs and added an entry to fstab to mount a samba share. After a reboot the "failed to initialize HAL!" error popped up when logging in. Removing the fstab entry and a reboot solved this problem. Running Ubuntu 6.06.1 with all updates applied.

I got the same error after I installed the dbus-1.0.1 and dbus-glib-0.72 into /usr
I think it must be caught by the dbus config file.
