Bug Description
Binary package hint: hal
Suspend/hibernate doesn't work out of the box with toshiba a215 s7416. Tested with both RC ubuntu/kubuntu 64bit livecds. After going into suspend mode the screen just becomes black and nothing happens. This the case for both suspend to ram and to disc options.
The HAL people site:
http://
claims a 215 should be supported.
Harware spec of this laptop are: AMD Turion x2 1800, Xpress radeon x1200, rtl8187B for Wifi

Seems to work with hibernate scripts :
On current jaunty I had to untag in /etc/hibernate/ ususpend- ram.conf "USuspendRamForce yes" option.
hibernate-disk or hibernate-ram commands issues a correct sleep/hibernate
To make the menu buttons work with I had to edit files in /usr/lib/ hal/scripts/ linux/
hal-system- power-hibernate -linux power-suspend- linux
hal-system-
and put there :
#!/bin/sh
hibernate-disk
and
#!/bin/sh
hibernate-ram
Maybe it could be somehow fixed to work out of the box for others with latest release??
