Bug Description

I'm using Kubuntu 3.5.9 fully updated.

2 weeks ago, my USB2 flash drive(actually a card-reader + an MMC) used to work properly, reading/writing at almost 8 Mb/s, after some recent upgrades, not sure which, the writing speed decreased to something in the range 32-50 KB/s which is extremely slow, and doesn't even mean it's working at USB1 speed.

The same is happening with my laptop which has almost the same software configuration.

Note that writing works properly on Windows

I'm ready to provide any information.

I'd like to add than when I sudo umount'ed(after automounting) then sudo mount'ed the flash again manually the transfer speed went back to normal

I think this is the same issue for OpenSuse, http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Automounting_without_the_sync_Option
