Bug Description
Binary package hint: hal
The hal daemon starts long after kdm starts, thus when I log in I get no hal interface in KDE.
This behaviour was described here:

It is said to be fixed, but it happens again in hardy (feisty didn't misbehave this way).

Shouldn't be an issue in Kubuntu 10.04 and onwards due to init system changes.
