Comment 4 for bug 151684

I have the same issue as well with my ACER Aspire 5672 using the Logitech Orbicam.

Boot is longer due to issues with the camera and system log shows after boot:

     usb 5-8: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 16
     usb 5-8: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
     /build/buildd/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22-2.6.22/debian/build/build-generic/media/gspcav1/gspca_core.c: USB SPCA5XX camera found.(VC0321)
     usb 5-8: USB disconnect, address 20
     gspca: probe of 5-8:1.0 failed with error -5

This also is resulting in a blank return from 'lsusb':

     Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
     Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
     Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
     Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
     Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

Which makes me think that the camera does not load so it will not allow the other usb connections work either... a usb mouse will not work nor a flash drive.

Error log count reaches 800 before full boot into system and then after 2 hours reachs 2800, so 1000 errors logged in an hour just for this camera. I fear to use my system for a long period in case error log tops out at some point.

If there is any fix I would greatly appreciate some information as to why this is happening or a way to stop it, such as disabling the camera.
